Surface Anatomy of the Head. The head (cephalic region or caput) is divisible into the cranium and face. The cranium surrounds and protests the brain. The face is the anterior portion of the head.The head contains the sense organs-eyes, ears, nose and tongue. Regions of the Cranium and face are as follows: a) Frontal region - front of skull  b) Parietal region c) Temporal region d) Occipital region e) Oribital or Ocular region f) Nasal region - nose g) Infraoribital region h) Oral region - mouth i) Mental region - anterior part of mandible j) Buccal region - cheek k) Zygomatic region l) Auricular region - external ear
